STUDENT LIFE
A typical Kannada Kali Day
The weekly kannada kali class starts from a "Guru namana". Students will assemble in a hall class wise and sing
"Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru devo Maheshwara
Guru sakshat, param Brahma, tasmai shri guravay namah ||
Our creation is that guru (Brahma-the force of creation); the duration of our lives is that guru (Vishnu-the force of preservation); our trials, tribulations, illnesses, calamities and the death of the body is that guru (devo Maheshwara-the force of destruction or transformation). There is a guru nearby (Guru Sakshat) and a guru that is beyond the beyond (param Brahma). I make my offering (tasmai) to the beautiful (shri) remover of my darkness, my ignorance; (Guru) it is to you I bow and lay down my life (namah)."
After this kids will enthusiastially sing our kannada cultural heritage song ,written by our Kannada poet D S Karki.
ಹಚ್ಚೇವು ಕನ್ನಡದ ದೀಪ
ಕರುನಾಡ ದೀಪ ಸಿರಿನುಡಿಯ ದೀಪ
ಒಲವೆತ್ತಿ ತೋರುವ ದೀಪ
After this , the students will follow the teachers to their respective class rooms.

Cultural day
Cultural day is an annual event designed to help our students to understand our kannada and karnataka culture. On this day, the kids will engage in various cultural activities like, singing, drama, skits and fancy dress depicting our kannada cultural themes.
ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಘೋಷ್ಠಿ
ಪ್ರತಿವಾರ, ಶಾಲೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗುವ ಮೊದಲು ಎಲ್ಲ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಒಂದೆಡೆ ಸೇರಿ ಗುರು ನಮನ ಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ, ಕನ್ನಡದ ಉನ್ನತಿಯ ಹಾಡು "ಹಚ್ಚೇವು ಕನ್ನಡದ ದೀಪ"ವನ್ನು ಒಕ್ಕರಿಲಿಂದ ಹಾಡುವ ದೃಶ್ಯ ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸಹ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿಯ ಸಮಯ !!

Our little Evergreen Kannada Kali student in less than a month... making his ajji very happy to see mommaga speaking in Kannada for the very first time!!! Grandma was very appreciative of our Level 1 teacher for her dedication and inspiration!!!

Class room Activity
Kannada kali Class room is uniquly designed to teach kannada to our students. The teachers will engage the students with kannada alphabet, kAguNita, ottakshara along with reading and writing skill development activities.
The classes are starting from 1st grde to all the way to 5th grade and beyond. All ages of students are welcome to join the class room and our teacher volunteers are dedicated to teach and ready to part their kannada knowledge!!
