ಅನ್ನದ ಅಶೋಕ್ ಹೊಳ್ಳ ಅವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಸಂಗೀತದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ತರಬೇತಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಮೊದಲ ಗುರು ಅವರ ತಾಯಿ ವಿದೂಷಿ ನಳಿನಿ ರಾವ್. ಆನಂತರ ಅವರು ಗುರು ವಿದ್ವಾನ್ ಗುಡಿಬಂಡೆ ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಅವರ ಬಳಿ ಹಲವಾರು ವರ್ಷ ಸಂಗೀತಾಭ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಹಲವಾರು ವೇದಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗೀತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಣ್ಣ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಗೀತ ಕಲಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷವಾದ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.  ಸಂಗೀತದ ಮೂಲಕ ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪೀಳಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು  ಕಲಿತು, ಬೆಳೆಸಲಿ ಎಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕನ್ನಡ  ಕಲಿ ಎವರ್ಗ್ರೀನ್ ಶಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗೀತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.  

Annada Ashok Holla is a trained Carnatic Vocalist who started her journey in the world of music at a tender age of 4. Her mother Vidushi Nalini Rao was her first teacher. Later she learnt music under Vidwan Shri Gudibande Kumaraswamy. She has been performing at various levels and stages in Karnataka, India. She enjoys teaching music to young kids and want the next generation to embrace our culture through music. She has joined the Kannada Kali evergreen team and has been teaching our kids prayers and songs.

ಶೀಲಾ ಶಂಕರ್ ಅವರು ೧೫ ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ KKNC ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ೨೦೦೮-೨೦೧೦ರ ವರೆಗೆ ಎಂಟರ್ಟೈನ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಸೆಕ್ರೆಟರಿ ಸಹ ಆಗಿದ್ದರು.  ವೃತ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಾಗಿರುವ ಇವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಎವರ್ಗ್ರೀನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ "Unique  Stars Academy" ಎನ್ನುವ ಶಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬಿಡುವಿನ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ  stand -up Comedy, Dance ಮತ್ತು skits choreography ಮಾಡುವ ಹವ್ಯಾಸ  ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಎವರ್ಗ್ರೀನ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಲಿ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಲು ಬಹಳ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ ಆಗಿದೆ ಅಂತ ಹೇಳ್ತಾರೆ.

Sheela Shankar has been part of KKNC for the last 15 years. She has served as the KKNC entertainment secretary from 2008-2010. She is a teacher my profession and has established and runs a school “Stars Academy” here in Evergreen. In her spare time she does Stand-up Comedy, choreographs dance, and directs Plays. She says – “I am excited to be part of the Kannada Kali team in Evergreen”

ನಮಿತಾ ಮುಜುಮದಾರ ಅವರು ಮೂಲತಃ  ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದವರು, ಬೇ ಏರಿಯಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದ ಹತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ನೆಲೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರು ಸಾಫ್ಟ್ವೇರ್ engineer. ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆ ಇದೆ ನನಗೆ. ಅದನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಕಲಿಸಿ  ಅವರಿಗೂ ಸಹ ಮಾತೃ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಾದ ಆದರ, ಹೆಮ್ಮೆ ಬೆಳೆಸಬೇಕು, ಅನ್ನೋ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ನನ್ನದು ಅಂತ ಹೇಳ್ತಾರೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಜೊತೆಗೆ ತಾವು ಸಹ ಬಂದುಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಲಿಸಲು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Namita is basically from North Karnataka, and has lived in the bay area for 10 years. She is a software engineer by profession. She says “I am proud of my language and want to help in anyway possible so that the next generation can get to know and love Kannada as we do”. With that intention she has enrolled her daughter in Kannada Kali and is also volunteering her time in teaching Kannada to our children.

ರಚನಾ ರಂಗನಾಥ್ ಅವರು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆದ್ದಿದ್ದರು ಸಹ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ,  ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ  ಓದುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಬರೆಯುವುದನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ಸಿಗಲಿಲ್ಲ ಹೇಳ್ತಾರೆ.

ಆದರೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಕನ್ನಡ ಓದಿ ಬರೆಯುವುದನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸ ಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಲಿ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ತಾವು ಸಹ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಜೊತೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಲಿಯುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಲಿ ತಂಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲು ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Rachana is a Kannadiga who works as a software engineer at Apple. Even though she grew up in North India, she fluently speaks Kannada. Rachana says “Growing up in North India, I did not have an opportunity to learn Kannada. However, I want both my kids to learn to read, write and talk in kannada”. With that intention, in addition to enrolling both her kids in Kannada Kali, she is volunteering her time to help run the Kannada Kali in Evergreen.

ರಂಜಿತ್ ಕಾಗತಿ ಅವರ ಹುಟ್ಟೂರು ಕೋಲಾರ, ಸದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ Google ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಫ್ಟ್ವೇರ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ಬಿಡುವಿನ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀchi ಅವರ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಓದುವುದು ಮತ್ತು bicycle riding ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಹವ್ಯಾಸಗಳನ್ನು ಇತ್ತು ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕನ್ನಡದ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆ ಇದೆ, ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ - ಅವರೇ ಹೇಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ "ಕನ್ನಡ phonetic language, ಅಂದರೆ ಉಚ್ಚ್ಚಾರಣೆ ಹಾಗು ಬರೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ಯಾವುದೇ ಯುರೋಪಿಯನ್ ಮೂಲದ ಭಾಷೆಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇಂತಹ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಕಲಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Ranjith is basically from Kolar and works as a software engineer at Google. In his free time he engages in hobbies like reading Kannada books, bike riding etc. He is very proud of Kannada Language because it is phonetic language, meaning there is no difference in how you pronounce vs write in Kannada. This is not the case in any of the European languages. With the intention of passing on the precious kannada language to the next generation, he has volunteered his time to teach Kannada to our children.
